A-List, The

by Zoey Dean
Girl books
256 pages

Cammie, Sam and Dee; they are the A-list, and no one steals their spotlight. If you want to be on the A-list, you’ll have to go through them first.
Anna decides to move with her father in LA. On the flight to LA, she meets Ben, a student from Princeton Academy. Could he be the boy of her dreams? Well, she seems to think so. Ben invites her to accompany him to Jackson Sharpe’s wedding. At the wedding, she meets Cammie, Sam and Dee. She learns that those girls are snotty A-list brats, and wants nothing to do with them. After the wedding, Anna goes with Ben to his father’s boat. She could be making the biggest mistake of her life.
The one thing all four girls have in common is that they all want Ben, but only one girl is good enough for him: Anna Percy. Even though she doesn’t like the A-list girls, Anna is extremely nice to all of them. Cammie is a total brat, but everyone still seems to like her. After all, she is the most popular girl in their school! Sam, a size ten, is really pretty, but no one will date her. No body seems to be able to look past her size.Dee hates Anna, because she gets Ben, but still wants to be her best friend. She is very kind to Anna, the only one who is. Cammie, Sam, and Dee are all jealous of Anna. But, what’s not to like; she’s tall, she’s a size zero, and she doesn’t need make up to look drop-dead gorgeous.
The theme of this novel would be: If you aren’t A-list, you’re B-list, and if you’re B-list, no one cares. Only so many people get to be A-list, and to be accepted, you have to be accepted by Cammie, Sam and Dee.
I would recommend this book to anyone girl in high school or older. I would also recommend it to any girl who has read “Gossip Girl” or “The It Girl”.
