Absolutely, Positively Not...

by David Larochelle
Fiction
219 pages

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a boy and not like girls? Or to go to the dance with a golden retriever because you didn't feel comfortable with anyone else. If this kind of thing interests you, you should read this book.

In this book, a boy named Steven knows he likes to dance, has a girl as a best friend, and thinks Mr Bowman is sexy. All that stuff isn't weird though, is it? Steven has a hard time convincing himself that he isn't a little odd. Will everyone in the school figure out his problem? Or will Steven learn to accept it.

The main character in this book is Steven. He is a boy who has a big problem with his sexuality. He would rather read International Male than Playboy. Also, he has dreams about his teacher Mr Bowman. Another important character is Steven's friend rachel. She is animal activist and a vegitarian and loves to stand up for her beliefs. Other than that there is no other really important characters.

People who read this book can learn a couple of important lessons. One is to be yourself. You should always let who you are shine through. Also, you should be comfortable with your sexuality. Steven learns both of these things in this book. It is a great book for people who can relate to his "gay" problem but I recommend it to everyone.
