"People were going to die here soon. Quite a lot of people, actually." This is what was going through Charles Danko's mind just minutes before he planned to bomb the heart of San Francisco's financial area.
Danko, along with a group who call themselves "August Spies", are trying to get big business executives to send money to starving people in Ethiopia. In order to try to persuade them to do it, August Spies is murdering, or in their own words waging war on, as many of the business tycoons as they can. Their other main goal is to cancel the G-8 conference that is sceduled for the next week.
Lieutenant Lindsay Boxer, head of the Homicide unit for San Francisco, stands in the way of August Spies. She, along with the Deputy Director of Homeland Securtiy Molinari and her friends Assistant D.A. Jill Bernhardt, and reporter Cindy Thomas are hunting them down. As they are getting closer to finding the killer, one of them is killed. As Lindsay and Molinari get to know each other better, they begin to fall in love. Will this effect their investigation?
I learned that you might find love in places you wouldn't expect. How often does someone find their Mr./Ms. Right during a murder rampage?. I also learned that we need to face our problems, and not to give up because life doesn't always go smoothly.
