by Brent Hartinger Fiction 212 pages
Harlan and Manny attend the same high school, but run with very different crowds. Why then, are they having similar nightmares and premonitions?
Harlan is a cut above your typical high school charmer. He has popular friends, gorgeous girls hanging all aver him and a famous senator father with lots of money. But when he begins having unexplained premonitions of impending doom, he tries everything to get them explained, including visiting a fortune teller. As his behavior becomes more erratic, people begin to notice, especially his control-freak mother.
Manny belongs with the artsy crowd at school. He is a gifted theatrical artist, whose best friend is a deaf girl who loves making films with him. Manny, however, begins having nightmares which leave him exhausted. His normally loving father has also begun acting strangely secretive, making Manny think that something suspicious may have happened in his past.
As these two young men begin unraveling the mystery of their pasts, the reader is taken for an unexpected ride to the intersection of Grand and Humble, where years ago an accident took place that started the whole unclear story.
