Brian's Hunt

by Gary Pualsen
Adventure/survival
110 pages

“He was in his world again. He was back.” This book takes place in the Canadian woods. This book is about a young man named Brian who went back to the woods by canoe to follow the rivers north. He went on this journey to find Susan, a Cree Indian friend. He finds an injured dog that turns out to be Susan’s dog. On his journey, he finds out that Susan’s family has been killed by a bear. Brian seeks revenge on the bear by trying to hunt it down and kill it.

Brian is about six feet tall has brown hair and brown eyes, he is 16 years old, and hate being in the city or around a lot of people. Brian is strong on not wasting anything that comes from nature, anything he kills he eats or makes use of. Brains personality is never say never. My opinion of Brian is that is strong mentally and physically. This is the only main character in brains hunt, there is only one other character in this book and she’s only there for a short while.

The main idea for Brian’s Hunt is that you can survive out in the wilderness by your self and revenge on nature isn’t always necessary. This is the 4th book in the sires of Brain books by Gary Paulsen. Brain’s Hunt is personally my favorite book of them all. The main reason the author wrote this book is that a lot of the same stuff has happened to him in his adventures into the wild. Gary Paulsen is trying to teach us that you must all ways trust your instinct about something.
