by Anthony Kiedis Non-Fiction 480 pages
Every kid dreams to be in a rock band, but what you dont realize is how easy it is to get caught up in drugs. Thats what Anthony Kiedis found out the hard way.
This book is about the band the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the good times and the bad times they went through as a band. It shows how they became famous and how drugs played a big part in their band. Readers find out how bad the lead singers drug problem was and what problems it caused for the band.
Anthony Kiedis is the main character in this book. He is the lead singer who is addicted to sex and drugs. It is his drug addiction that causes him to be late to concerts and forget about stuff, which makes things much harder for the band. This book also lets you see what it is like to be a rock star, and how friends stick together when things get rough.
This book teaches you how hard rock stars lives can be and how easy it is to get caught up in drugs. Readers will see what problems drugs can cause, especially if you are addicted to them. But you will also how fun it can be to be in a band.
I really liked this book. It taught me more about the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the struggles they went through because of drugs and stuff. After reading this book it makes their songs make more sense, and I now know what there singing about. If you like their music, I think you would enjoy this book.
